about

Chef and Partner Chintan Pandya and restaurateur Roni Mazumdar of the critically acclaimed Rahi and Adda Indian Canteen have brought Dhamaka to Essex Market.

Regarded as an “Unapologetic Indian” restaurant serving provincial Indian cuisine, Dhamaka has made a splash in the Lower East Side dining scene. “Dhamaka is our way of showing New Yorkers parts of India they might not have seen,” says Roni.

You won’t find the usual suspects like tikka masala here, but instead a wide array of flavorful rustic Indian classics you’ve likely never heard of before! We recommend Murgh Kofta, similar to a scotch egg with ground chicken and served in curry, as well as an order of Beguni, or fried eggplant bites.

While they offer indoor and outdoor seating options tables book up fast so don’t forget to make a reservation before your visit!
